Initially the 2016 CTR installer automatically unintalled all other versions. CTR replaced MSI install, eliminating use "custom installs". They decided to make the "Click to (not) run) VM installer "selective". When Office 2016 was released MS got "cute". Then marketing stuck their big noses in and messed things up.
